How to rehearse a play with Répliq

Répliq comes with free plays, every part already voiced, so you can try a full rehearsal before you bring your own script. You don’t need an account to start.

The app reads every other part in its own voice, stops when it’s your turn, and moves on when you’ve said your line. Here’s a run, start to finish.

Step by step

  1. 1

Pick a play. On the home screen, open Try a sample play and choose one.

Trifles is in the video. Or paste in your own script.

  2. 2

Listen first. Once it has downloaded, tap the play button next to it on the home screen, then the play button in the toolbar at the bottom.

Every character reads in their own voice, so you hear the scene before you learn your part.

  3. 3

Choose your part. Tap Choose role and pick your character, then tap the Listen pill and switch to Rehearse.

  4. 4

Rehearse. The app reads everyone else’s lines and stops at yours.

Say your line out loud; it moves on by itself. Nothing to press.

  5. 5

Hide your lines. Tap the Rehearse pill and pick a Challenge level.

Keep the first word as a hint, or go From memory.

  6. 6

Repeat a little every day. Short runs beat one long one.

    The app keeps your place.
