How to share a script with your cast

Share a script once, and your whole cast rehearses the same lines with the same voices. You get a code to read out at rehearsal and a link to send to the group; your cast picks whichever is easier.

Under a minute, both ways in.

Step by step

  1. 1

Open the menu on its card. On the home screen, tap the … circle on the script’s card, then Share.

The first time, it asks you to sign in with Apple; your name goes out with the script, as “by <your name>”.

  2. 2

Pick a way to send it. The sheet shows a six-digit code and a link. Read the code out at rehearsal, or tap Copy link (or Share) and send the link to the group.

The code works for a week; anyone who imports the script in that week keeps it.

  3. 3

With the code. On their phone, your cast opens Répliq, taps Have a code? and types the six digits. The script arrives on the sixth.

  4. 4

With the link. It opens the script’s page, with where to get Répliq. They tap Open in Répliq, and the script is in the app.

No code to type. A link pasted into Safari’s address bar shows this page, which is why the button is there.

  5. 5

It’s theirs. It shows under Shared with you on their home screen, with every voice you chose. Your cast needs no account and no subscription. From here, they rehearse it like any play: how to rehearse a play.

Good to know

  • Changed a line after sharing? Share again, and everyone who imported it gets the new version. Wait until the edited line is no longer dimmed: sharing is refused while an edit is still saving or its audio is being prepared.
  • Testing your own share? On a phone signed in to your own account, the import is refused: the script is already yours. Use a phone that isn’t signed in as you.
  • The first rehearsal asks for the microphone. Tell your cast to allow it: the app needs to hear their lines. A Don’t Allow can only be undone in Settings.
